Small work 1- Street or Garden Topic 4

For this project we were asked to go to a garden or a street, sit for an hour and record our experience by sketching and writing. My location was off the metro mover 8th St. station, Brickell, its a block away Brickell ave. There theres a mini park, lets call it where there are some benches and people can sit down and also theres a path where you can walk, and also walk your dog. I went to this location a little bit after lunch, I got to see a lot of people rush back to their jobs, but because I was there for an hour I also got to experience a really quiet and peaceful side that I don't usually see.
I sat down on a bench and I tried to take as much in as I could, and my first impression was how small I felt surrounded by all this tall buildings, everywhere I looked it was building after building, and if I looked up I had the sky. At times I felt overwhelmed by so much around me, and also sometimes I just felt just very relaxed and at piece.
I also noticed a lot of geometric shapes from pretty much everything around me, and because I was sitting in the little park I also noticed some vegetation.
I wanted to represent a city and capture the look of Brickell, and thats when I thought that with the use of mirrors I could create an optical illusion and the idea of many buildings even though it was just really one. Also with the piece I wanted the city to be more organized and more clean, sort of an urban utopia.
